The Sallee Family and Ministry

I am concerned that people with newly-translated Bibles will not know how to start studying them. All too often, they may turn to notes and commentaries in other languages rather than let the Holy Spirit speak to them through the words of the Scripture. Furthermore, study notes and commentaries express the viewpoint of the author, who may or may not have any understanding of the reader from another culture and language. I want to encourage and enable people to read and understand the Bible for themselves before they look at other resources.

To facilitate making the Bible the focus of study, I am creating Bible Study Questions (SQ) for each verse of the Bible. These questions help guide the reader to observe, interpret, and apply what they read in the Bible. I do not include answers. The goal is for the readers to see what God has said rather than what I think. In that way, the SQ should easily span cultures and languages. They are not exhaustive, but are designed to prompt other questions by the readers, and to teach them to ask their own questions of the text.

I have completed the New Testament SQ and am now working on the Old Testament. I am retired, but have no plans to quit ministry. You can follow the development of the SQ at Worldview.info.
